Creative Services

Gimp, Gwenview, ImageMagick and Quanta have replaced Adobe Photoshop and Dreamweaver in our studios for a more efficient workflow. They are just some examples of dozens of creative and design software included in a Linux distribution. We use them every day.

The GIMP

    Open Source

GIMP is an acronym for the GNU Image Manipulation Program for Linux, Mac OS X, Unix, and Windows. It is a freely distributed piece of software suitable for such tasks as photo retouching, image composition and image authoring.

It is an extremely capable piece of software with many capabilities. It can be used as a simple paint program, a expert quality photo retouching program, an online batch processing system, a mass production image renderer, a image format converter, etc.

GIMP is extremely expandable and extensible. It is designed to be augmented with plugins and extensions to do just about anything. The advanced scripting interface allows everything from the simplest task to the most complex image manipulation procedures to be easily scripted.

Quanta Web Development

    Open Source

Quanta is a web development tool for the K Desktop Environment (KDE). Quanta is designed for quick web development and is rapidly becoming a mature editor with a number of great features. The Quanta team is developing enhancements geared toward making it easy for web developers to customise, extend and enhance Quanta.

Quanta Plus is a Web IDE that strives to be neutral and transparent to all markup languages, while supporting popular web-based scripting languages, CSS, and other emerging W3C recommendations.

Quanta is available for Linux. Many linux distros are bundling Quanta. Please check your favourite vendor's site for a package tailored to your distro.
